Reading about flocks of swallows to write this post I have learnt different birds have different collective nouns to describe large groups. Although some of them are obsolete or rarelly used, they are still familiar to birders. Many flock names refer to the behaviour or personalities of the birds, which I think is nice.
For example, for hummingbirds you can use charm, glittering, shimmer, tune, bouquet or hover.
A flock of swallows is a flight or a gulp.
Well, I just wanted to tell you our ornamental wooden swallows are now available in orange in addition to the blue one, and in flights (set) of three units at a cheaper price :-)
